Adult Panjabi Language – Level 1
Beginner Gurmukhi, pronunciation, reading, writing, vocabulary and everyday conversation.
Who can enrol?
Enrolment is open to domestic students only. Please check your eligibility:
- NZ Citizen / Resident
- NZ Permanent Resident / Resident Visa holder
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Student must be 13 years or older when enrolling into this programme
Entry criteria
- Be a domestic student aged 13 years or older at the time of enrolment.
- Have a basic understanding of the Gurmukhi script, including the ability to recognise and identify the main Gurmukhi consonants and vowel signs.
- No other prior formal study of Panjabi is required.
Applicants may be asked to complete a short entry assessment to confirm that they meet the required Gurmukhi literacy level before enrolment is confirmed.

Programme details
Designed for adults with little or no previous Panjabi, this course takes you from the Gurmukhi alphabet to reading simple text and holding everyday conversations. Classes are relaxed, practical and focused on real conversation from the first lesson.
